A support group for women with breast cancer or those who have had breast cancer. Meetings take place at the Lexington Clinic Center for Breast Care on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and offer women an opportunity to discuss breast cancer experiences, learn about resources and options, and receive emotional support from others facing breast cancer. The Art of the Scarf @ UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center - Room 1604

Is your wig hot, itchy, painful, or all three? Do you want to find creative, colorful ways to cover and protect your head, while helping you feel beautiful? If you have hair loss due to chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments, this class can help you learn The Art of the Scarf.

In this class, we will cover:

  • how to select the right size, shape and color of scarf
  • multiple ways to wrap, twist and tie scarves
  • looks for day and evening

The workshop is open to all patients, survivors with long-term hair loss, and caregivers. It is offered free of charge.

Please bring a scarf or two of your own to practice with. Class size is limited to eight participants. Call Eileen to reserve your space at 925-1114.

Eileen Bilynsky is a patient navigator with the American Cancer Society. She has helped many people manage the impact of their cancer for more than five years. In her work, Eileen has helped women find creative ways to manage the effects of hair loss with a variety of head-covering options.
