This semi-monthly support group is for people living with advanced or metastatic cancer. The open discussion group is facilitated by Liz Carrino-Tamasi, MSW, and Emily Sower, NP-C. The Lilies of the Valley Support Group meets monthly on the last Tuesday of the month (if you are a Lilies member, you will get a meeting reminder email about a week before each meeting). Meetings are held at Clearview Cancer Institute, 3601 CCI Drive N.W., Huntsville, Alabama. We meet on the 2nd floor of CCI in the Community Room from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Most of the meetings are for Lilies only since we often discuss matters pertaining to personal, medical matters. But occasionally there will be a speaker on a topic of interest to family members or caregivers. You will be notified in your meeting reminder email if family members or others are invited to attend.
Survivors of ovarian cancer are invited to join our membership. Membership includes our quarterly newletter, notice of monthly meetings and special events, and other news of interest to ovarian cancer patients and survivors. Membership is free. Your level of participation is entirely up to you. We welcome all the assistance we can get in spreading awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms.
We also welcome volunteers and advocates. If you or someone you know has ever been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, send us a note to let us know!

Our support groups provide people with cancer and caregivers with a place to explore ways of coping with the stress of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our licensed clinicians help support group participants learn how to take an active role in their own health and well-being. Attendance at an orientation session is required prior to joining a group.

Building a mindfulness practice has been proven to significantly reduce distress in people with cancer and their families. Join us for skill building & practice. First Tuesday of each month 12:30-1:30 pm
Caregiver Support Group – an informal meeting for caregivers who have a loved one with a cancer diagnosis. Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, 12:30 – 2:00 at the UA Cancer Center – Orange Grove Campus (1891 W. Orange Grove Rd) Conference Room.
